First Annual Unified Friendship Games
March 6th was a great day at West Tatnuck as they celebrated their First Annual Unified Friendship games sponsored by Special Olympics. Primary students in Lifeskills and grade 2 played together to celebrate their friendship. Students participated together in movement activities like goal scoring, parachute, balloon striking and racing. The entire school took part by making signs and bulletin boards and cheering in the halls as the Olympic torch was carried to the gym. All students that participated received a Special Olympics T-shirt and medal for their efforts. The day ended with a dance party and celebration in the library. This collaboration between the Physical Education and Adapted Physical Education department, Special Education department (OT,PT,Speech), Art, and Music along with the entire staff at West Tatnuck was a great success. A great day was had by all!
